3 Purdy youths injured in crash

Who: Three Purdy youths

Three Purdy juveniles were injured on Sunday in a wreck at 2:40 p.m. on Highway 59, two miles east of Neosho in Newton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 16-year old male from Purdy was driving a 2008 Chevrolet HHR westbound when his vehicle failed to yield and turned into the path of a 2016 Dodge Ram, being driven by Gregory Botts, 35, of Neosho.

The 16-year-old and a 14-year-old male suffered minor injuries, and an 11-year-old male suffered moderate injuries. All three Purdy boys were transported to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. Botts was not injured.

All involved were wearing safety devices. The Chevrolet was totaled and the Dodge sustained moderate damage.
