Season’s first Cruise-In coming up
The Cassville Cruisers will host a Cruise-In on May 14 from 5 p.m. to dusk at the Barry County Museum, south of Cassville on Highway 112. Admission is free, and the Boy Scouts will provide concessions. Monthly meetings are the Tuesday prior to the Cruise-In at Sho-Me Plaza on Highway 248 in Cassville at 7 p.m. For more information on the car club, people may visit www.cassvillecruisers.com.
Cornhole tournament in Eagle Rock
On May 14 the Class of 2022 Project Graduation will host a Cornhole Tournament at the Eagle Rock Community Center. Doors Open at noon with a blind draw at 1:30 p.m., and bags start flying at 2 p.m. People may pre-register by contacting Heather Carroll at 417-342-6241.
CS Bank celebrates 110-year anniversary
Today (Wednesday) marks the 110-year anniversary for CS Bank. Formerly Bank of Eureka Springs and Cornerstone Bank prior to a name shortening in 2020 to CS Bank, the financial institution was chartered in 1912 and remains the only local bank headquartered in Eureka Springs with seven locations throughout Northwest Arkansas and Southwest Missouri. “It is with great pride that we announce this milestone for our company and express our tremendous gratitude to the citizenry of the markets which we conduct business within for the continued privilege of serving their financial needs,” said Charlie Cross, CEO. “Our success over the past century plus has been a direct reflection of these communities’ patronage of our institution. Truck raffle to benefit family
A 2005 single cab shortbed Chevy pickup truck is being raffled to benefit a local family affected by breast cancer. Tickets may be purchased at The Shop by D and L, located at 503 Mill St. in Cassville. Entrants must be 18 years of age, and each ticket is $10. The winner will be drawn at the Wheaton Cruise-in on Oct. 1.
Corsicana Road District to meet
The Corsicana Road District will meet in regular session on May 10 at 7 p.m. at the home of Garry and Pam Bartkoski, located at 5086 Farm Road 2057 in Monett. The public is welcome to attend.
All-school reunion planned at Southwest
The Southwest High School Class of 1972 will host the All-School Reunion this year, to be held on May 28 at the Southwest High School commons area. Anyone who attended school at or graduated from Seligman/ Washburn/Southwest School is welcome to attend the annual All-School Reunion. This reunion hasn’t been held in two years, so the Class of 1972 would like to invite all fellow Southwest alumni to come and get reacquainted with former classmates. More information will be made available as the date gets closer.
Seligman dances ongoing each Saturday
The Seligman Chamber of Commerce country dances at the Seligman Chamber Event Center are every Saturday from 7-10 p.m. No alcohol is allowed. Admission is $10 per person, and 18-and-under are free. There is a potluck, 50-50 drawing and door prizes. For more information, people may call 417-662-3612.
