After a wide search effort to locate Christine Seal, who went missing on June 19, has been unsuccessful, according to law enforcement, who say there is no hard evidence for them to work with. A reward has been started in an effort to assist in finding her.
Gladys I. Smith, Cassville postmaster, has announced her retirement, which now places city carrier, Gene Ledgerwood in her position as office in charge. Mrs. Smith has completed 38 years of service with the Postal Services.
A Butterfield native, Ernest Saunders, 22, was accidentally drowned while swimming in a creek with friends near Van Buren, Ark., last week. He had completed a tour of duty in Vietnam.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Snider announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Elizabeth to Tommy Rex Farwell, son of Mae Farwell and the late Otto Farwell. An August wedding is planned.
Second Lieutenant Frank K. Kammerlohn has entered U.S. pilot training at AFB in Laredo, Texas. He is the son of Colonel and Mrs. M.A. Kammerlohr, of Cassville.

Cassville High School junior Gail McGruder has been selected to be a state finalist in the 1982 Miss United Teenager Pageant. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken McGruder, of Cassville.
Roaring River State Park facilities are scheduled to receive at least $3 million for improvements as a result of the recently passed $600 million state bond issue.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Carr have purchased a Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise in Harrisonville and three others in Florida. The Carrs will maintain their corporate office in Cassville.
Oak Hill Cemetery has been enlarged by one acre. The gift came from Mr. and Mrs. Roy Edmondson. In return for the gift, the family will receive a family plot.
Phillip Cole of Exeter was named to be the new president of the Cassville Lions Club, according to the current president, Gene Taggart.

The Security Bank Little League team members include: Johnny Ferris, Greg Latschar, Chad Jackson, Chris Marshall, Rick Thompson, Gerry Miller, Boyce Crumpler, Jacob Skelton, Danny Wells, Toby Skelton, Jerrod Henbest, Ty Phillips and Zac Fields. The team is coached by Rex Crumpler and Ken Latschar.
The Cassville Lions Club met Thursday evening at The Rib restaurant. Bob Whitescarver was named to replace Jon Horner as president of the group. Others named were Marlee Edie, vice president; Ken House, second vice president; Jeff Houts, secretary/treasurer; James Woods, Lion tamer; and George Antle, tail twister.
