Cassville Football Coach Ron Cole is planning a pre-season football camp for this year’s Wildcats to be held during the next two weeks. Assisting him will be coaches Danny Lynch, Charles Pitts and Heno Head.
Seven members of the Cassville FFA attending the state leadership conference last week at Lake of the Ozarks were Chuck Nickle, Donald Cupps, Lynn Moore, Max Henbest, Mike Purdom, Mike Finn and Debbie Henry.
Able 2 Products of Cassville shipped their initial product for markets throughout the country this week, according to Jerry Watley, owner.
Hutchens Surge Dairy Supply of Cassville is holding an open house of their newly constructed and expanded operations at the Highway 248 location east of Cassville, according to Carol Hutchens, owner.
A youth camp in Barry County, operated by a Christian Church group, has been sold and will be converted to a private facility. New owners, Mr. and Mrs. Heno Head, said the new camp name would be Camp Soaring Hawk.

Holly Edmondson of Cassville has accepted a position as instrumental music instructor at Drumright, Okla., for next year. She is a graduate of University of Tulsa, and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Edmondson, of Cassville.
Cassville golfer, Dennis Ledgerwood, made history last week when he became the first member of the Cassville Golf Course to win the open tournament in its 17th edition from a field of 217 golfers.
The Cassville High School Class of 1932 held its 50th class reunion this past weekend with 14 of the original 30-member class present.
Barry County fescue harvesters are at least 10 days behind schedule because of the continued rains, which looks to decrease the crop by 50 percent some predict.
Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Bishop, of Cassville, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at their home on June 16. The couple have three daughters, Louise Stockton, Parthine Center and Janet Kinyon; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Vivian Box, owner of Vivian’s Dry Cleaners in Cassville, has announced the sale of the business to Mr. and Mrs. Tim Marney, owners of Nifty Cleaners. The Marneys plan to combine the businesses.
Nola Nickols, elementary principal at Purdy Schools, has been released from her contract to accept a position with the Rogers, Ark., school system.
Both area FFA and 4-H organizations are in the process of planning the Barry County Youth Livestock Show, which will be held July 11. Area FFA officers include: Derek Couch, chairman; Tony Mitchell, secretary; Vicki Nelson, treasurer; and Tami Rose, reporter.
