Catherine Virginia “Cathey” Williams, age 81, of Hermitage, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022, after an extensively long hospital and rehabilitation center stay following back surgery.
She was born June 30, 1941, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Tim and Olive (Power) Larkin. On November 18, 1960, she was united in marriage to Darrell Williams, her love of a lifetime, who preceded her in death on February 3, 2014. Also preceding her in death were her parents.
Surviving are one son, Lynn Williams of Nashville, Tennessee; two sisters, Jean Nickols and her husband Jack of Republic, Missouri, and Lois Huff and her husband Louie, of Yorba Linda, California; and one grandson, Colin Williams.
Cathey was a graduate of Purdy High School and attended Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Missouri. For the past 38 years she had lived in Hermitage, Tennessee. She was employed by Hickory Hollow Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee, where she served the Lord as a ministerial assistant for 31 years from where she retired and was also a past president of the Tennessee Baptist Convention Secretaries Association. Cathey enjoyed working with people, loved being with family and was always involved in her son and grandsons’ lives and their activities. She liked to travel, especially to Florida where she and Darrell would go to celebrate their anniversary.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2022, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor John Swadley will conduct the services. Burial will be at King Cemetery in Seligman.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
