Robert Lee Scott, 25, of Seligman, drowned last Wednesday in the Intercoastal Waterway near Morgan City, La. He apparently fell overboard from a barge on which he was working. Services were held Sunday with burial at the Seligman Cemetery.

Aug. 25, 1982 Jim Riddle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Verdayne Riddle of Cassville, graduated from the University of Missouri in Kansas City with a bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He graduated from CHS with the class of 1978.
Nolan McNeill, of Cassville, was the winner by 107 votes over Pat Tennison of Stella in a special run-off election Tuesday for the Democrat nomination for the 131st District of the State Legislature.

Enrollment for kindergarten at Cassville Schools this year includes 102 students, according to teachers, Brenda Samuel, Lou Ann Priest and Loretta Snow. School officials had expected about 85 students to enroll.
Aug. 19, 1992 The seventh administrator in the history of South Barry County Hospital in Cassville will also be the first woman to hold the position. Deborah Stubbs, of Berryville, Ark., will assume the duties on Aug. 21, according to hospital officials. She is replacing the post being vacated by Paul Strahl.
Cassville’s largest industry named a new plant manager this week. Named to the position was Mike McCracken, who has been with Fasco Industries since 1975. He is replacing the present manager Morris Castleberry, who is the only plant manager at Fasco since the company came to Cassville 17 years ago.
Conservation Agent Charles Marrs was recently recognized by the State Conservation Commission for his 25 years of service to this area. He was assigned to Barry County to work with Agent John Frye in 1967.
