WOW School scheduled at Roaring River State Park

People can now plan to attend the 25th annual WOW National Outdoor Recreation and Conservation School at Roaring River State Park.

WOW Schools are weekend programs designed to teach families how to enjoy a wide range of outdoor recreation activities while practicing personal safety and outdoor responsibility. Four schools are taught annually across Missouri.

This year, the Roaring River School will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Oct. 7; 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 8; and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 9. To see the cost and register for the classes, visit wondersofwildlife.org/education/ wow-school/.

WOW teaches through hands-on learning experiences in an outdoor setting. Attracting a wide range of ages, interests and abilities, WOW Outdoor School is an affordable family outing with an educational experience. Knowledgeable instructors will lead courses on numerous outdoor activities throughout the park and at other local venues.

Classes introduce attendees to a variety of outdoor activities that may include caving, rappelling, canoeing, shooting sports, fly fishing, fly tying, fishing, archery, primitive skills, camping, outdoors survival, Dutch oven cooking, nature crafts, outdoor photography, high ropes, rock climbing, star gazing and nature identification.
