A Pierce City man and George’s employee died on Monday as a result of injuries sustained from an overturned mower.

Det. Doug Henry, with the Barry County Sheriff’s Office, said at 11 55 a.m., a call reported a single motor vehicle accident on the right of way of Highway 37 in front of George’s Inc.

The vehicle involved was a John Deere zero turn mower that traveled down right of way and into a large concrete culvert.

The lawnmower overturned and ejected the driver, Craig Golubski, 57, of Pierce City. Mercy EMS and Butterfield Fire responded to the scene, but Golubski was unable to recover from the injuries he sustained.

Golubski was pronounced dead at the scene and was turned over to the Barry County Coroner.
