The Wheaton school district has been selected as one of the first schools to undergo an MSIP 6 evaluation.
According to meeting minutes, Fired Up Consulting will be working with the district to prepare a plan.
Trish Wilson, Wheaton superintendent, said MSIP 6 is the sixth version of the Missouri School Improvement Program.
“[It deals with] the state’s accountability system for reviewing and accrediting Local Education Agencies, outlines the expectations for student achievement, with the goal of each student graduating success-ready for college, career and life,” Wilson said. “The MSIP 6 standards and Indicators were approved by the State Board of Education in February, 2020 after more than two years of discussion, work, and review by educators and practitioner around the Student readiness for post-high school life tate, to set forth a new method for the state to determine the extent to which students are meeting necessary standards and obtaining necessary skills and knowledge for college, career and beyond.”
Wilson said for the Wheaton school district, this means this year they will be uploading documents and information to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to show what Wheaton is doing to meet the 6 Standards and Indicators.
