A Cassville man died on Saturday in a wreck at 5:29 p.m. on Highway 76, also known as Main Street, in Cassville.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Dale Roller, 53, of Cassville, was driving a 2005 Ford Mustang westbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck head-on a 2017 Ford Explorer, being driven by Wendy Miekley, 60, of Cassville.

Barry County Coroner Gary Swearingen pronounced Roller dead at the scene at 5:55 p.m. He was transported to Fohn Funeral Home.

Miekley was not injured.

Both individuals were wearing safety devices, and both vehicles were totaled.

This is the 100th fatal crash of the year for Troop D of the Patrol, which covers 18 counties in southwest Missouri, including Barry.
