Dr. Mary Merideth of Cassville returned in October from New York City where she attended a meeting of the American Academy of Family Physicians. A member of the Academy, Dr. Merideth heard nationally recognized medical speakers discuss up-to-the-minute health care topics, attended clinical seminars and visited scientific exhibits designed to provide specific knowledge in a variety of clinical areas.
All community members interested in the formation of a new Lions Cub in the Central Crossing area of Table Rock Lake were invited to Crowe’s Steakhouse to discuss the new endeavor.

Barry County Democrat candidates sponsored a Hootenanny at the Trojan Drive-in near Washburn on Oct. 26, featuring a chili supper and area bands.
Bird feeders to be used n the area were constructed by Cassville fifth graders in conjunction with a science unit project. The teacher for the project, Mrs. Liz Renkoski said the projects will provide feeders this winter for local birds.
This week in 1972 sparked the peak of Flaming Fall Review and motorists were encouraged to get out and visit the local sights while taking advantage of dipping gas prices. Gas was reported to be $1.06.9 per gallon.

Ye Old Garage flea market at Fifth and Main was reported to be under one ownership, as Mr. and Mrs. Lane Truman of Cassville purchased the interest of partners Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Crowe.
The Cassville Municipal Airport was the scene of a fly-in with skydiving exhibitions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and airplane rides available on fly-in aircraft, including warbirds and helicopters. All proceeds from the event went to the Missouri Search and Rescue K-9.
