A 20-year-old Cassville man suspected to be involved in a string of commercial burglaries has been charged with two felonies relating to a stolen vehicle in early November.
Jamison Jump, 20, of Cassville, is charged with tampering with a motor vehicle and felony stealing.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Det. Stuart Lombard, with the Cassville Police Department, between 9 p.m. on Nov. 6 and 5 a.m. on Nov. 7, a silver 1993 Dodge pickup was stolen from a home on Gravel Street in Cassville, along with a Darton compound bow and approximately 20 knives, each valued at $500.
On Nov. 21, Lombard and two other officers responded to a residence on Old Highway 37 to investigate the possible stolen vehicle on the property. Jump was fond to be walking away from the vehicle, which was parked under a carport east of his residence.
A witness allegedly identified Jump as having been driving the pickup, and another witness allegedly observed Jump removing items from the vehicle after it was parked, taking a photograph of Jump with the passenger side door open.
On Dec. 1, a search warrant was executed at Jump’s residence, with the compound bow allegedly located in a kitchen cabinet and the knives allegedly located in Jump’s room.
Jump was sentenced to 5 years of supervised probation on Jan. 13 for a felony tampering with a motor vehicle case originating in 2020. He was also sentenced to 5 years supervised probation on Sept. 8 for a possession of a controlled substance charge originating in April.
Lombard also said in the probable cause statement that other charges are pending, as Jump is a suspect in nine burglaries and is believed to be involved in 15 total and two vehicle thefts.
Jump is being held in the Barry County jail on a cash-only bond of $25,000. His initial appearance was Friday at 8:30 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
