In the 106-pound bracket at the Bentonville West Invitational Dec. 10, the winning wrestler was on the mat four times, but never for more than a minute.

Cassville’s Kurt Deaver was the only champion for the Wildcats at the tournament, turning in pins at 9, 54, 18 and 48 seconds to secure the gold.

Two of his teammates wrestled their way to silver, and another to bronze.

Jake Anthonysz, at 165 pounds, also went four matches, earning a pin and two technical falls on his way to the championship. In that match, he fell in 50 seconds to take silver.

In the 157-pound bracket, Tristan Thompson took five matches to reach the title bout, earning two pins and a technical fall in the round robing, then another pin in the semifinal. Thompson battled in the final, going down 9-0 in points before being pinned at 4:37.

Colton Roark rounded out the placers at the tournament, pinning all three round robin opponents but falling 12-10 in sudden victory in the semifinals. He bounced back in the last match of the day with a pin in 2:47.

The Wildcats also wrestled in triads with Diamond and Nevada on Dec. 13 and Branson and Marshfield on Dec. 15.
