Leonard Elmond Griffis, 83, of Cassville, passed away Sunday, Jan 1, 2023, at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation in Cassville.

He was born in Van, WV., the son of Melburn and Erslie Ellen (Green) Griffis who preceded him in death .

Also preceding him in death was one sister, Sylvia Hayworth; two brothers, Willie Griffis and Junior Griffis and two infant sisters.

Survivors include wife, Janeta “Ann” Buntin; one son, Calvin Griffis and his wife Mary of Cassville; one daughter, Karen Capps and her husband Kevin of Springfield; one sister, Mary Good of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

At the age of six Leonard moved with his family to Cassville, where he attended school in Cassville. He had worked several jobs before being employed by FASCO Industries in Cassville as a tool and die maker from where he retired.

Leonard was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 6, at Corinth Baptist Church in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Donnie Spears conducted the services. Burial was at Corinth Cemetery in Cassville.
