Donnie Spears: The effects of Jesus in all things

Revelation 1:8: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

On March the 5th, I brought a message on effects. Everything in life causes some kind of an effect either to us or around us, some are lasting effects and some are just for a moment. The other day, I was asked to speak at Southwest FCA and bring lunch. I had 30 large pizzas in my truck and wow what a smell all the windows fogged up and it was strong in there, the effects were very noticeable.

The effects were not long lasting, and boy I’m thankful for that. Ten years ago, I had a knee replaced. Since then, it has been replaced three times. The effects of this are very noticeable and life changing.

What looked at Sunday is the effect that Jesus had on the things of this world. The Bible is very clear that Jesus always had some kind of effect on everything he was around, from the Wise Men in Matthew 1:11 to Simeon in Luke 2:27-32 to John the Baptist in John 2:29 to a Demon in Mark 1:23,24 to the Wind and Sea in Mark 4:39 and I could go on and on.

Some effects were just for a moment, some were a lifetime and some were eternal.

The question we need to be asking ourselves is, what is the effect of Jesus in my life? Jesus is the King of Kings, Lord of all, He is all powerful, and has complete authority. How is it today someone can say Jesus is their Lord and Savior and there is no change, no effect?

I believe today, most people want a ticket, a friend, a buddy and not a Lord. I want to encourage you to stop for a moment and look at your life, look at Jesus in your life, are we following Him or asking Him to follow us.

Jesus is for you, loves you and has a plan for you, but we must follow. I had a good friend who is now with Jesus and he told me this little saying. “Your talk talks and your walk talks but your walk talks louder than your talk talks.”

The life we are living is talking, what is it saying about the effects of Jesus in your life?

I would like to invite you to join us if you don’t have a church home.

  1. I appreciate that you are getting the word of God out by way of using the Newspaper! Someone shared this on FB and the title got my attention. I attended a Graduation at Purdy one year when you were the speaker. I was very impressed. Likewise, I am very impressed with this article.

I have a home Church, but I have always considered Corinth a Church where the true word of God was taught.

May God Bless you in your service there and in our community. Keep pressing towards the mark🙏🏼

  2. For me to live is Christ. Appreciate your message, Jesus has to be Lord of all or not Lord at all. Praying for a move of God, a real revival that changes lives.
