1. Why do you want to win this position?
I want to ensure the completion of the performing arts center and continue to support projects and programs that maintain excellent academic opportunities for students.
2. If elected, what is your No. 1 goal on the school board?
My number 1 goal is to promote options for students in activities, athletics and academics that will upon graduation prepare them for future carers or further education.
3. What areas of the school district do you think need improvement?
lkjl I think it is good practice to continually evaluate our system and make adjustments as needed kj.
4. What do you feel is most important for raising the quality of education provided by Cassville schools?
It is important to maintain and retain high quality teachers, and to have positive parental and community support for our schools.
5. Taking into account a new performing arts center pending this election, what other capital projects do you think the school should pursue?
The school should continually maintain safety upgrades. Building should be maintained including roofs, HVAC units and utilities.
6. Is the district’s communication with parents satisfactory or does it need work? What makes it work, or how would you improve it?
Our district is making consistent communications a top priority for 2023?
One of the best ways to build and maintain good relationships is to form and maintain open communication. The District has chosen to make consistent engagement with all stakeholders – students, staff, parents and the community a top priority in our recently updated Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP).
• School Messenger: This system currently supports our phone and email messages, allowing us to contact families throughout the entire district. This too allows us to send the most critical text and email messages such as weather cancellations and other safety/crisis situations.
• Text messaging: Families have the option to sign-up to receive district text messages. This tool is utilized to update families about important information such as schedule changes, reminders, events, safety/crisis situations and more.
• Social media: Cassville R-IV is on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
• Website: The district maintains a comprehensive district wide website
• District Publications: The district sends out a monthly e-newsletter, The Wildcat Chat, through school messenger. The district prints a magazine, The Black and Gold Review, that highlights new programs, alumni, district calendar and contact information.
7. What classes or programs would you like to see added?
I would like to see the following added: Computer science at the High School which includes coding and Improving transitional classes between middle and high school.
8. How do you hope to help students succeed after graduation?
The positive activities, athletic, and academic experiences that students encounter while a wildcat should provide students multiple options upon graduation to pursue careers or further their education.
