Edward Dale Johnston, 73, of Marionville, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

He was born September 27, 1949, in Aurora, the son of Jacob Edward and Wilda Maxine (Duke) Johnston.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob, and son, Truman Morris.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Susan Quillin; his mother, Maxine Brashers, of Marionville; three daughters, Michelle Hilton and her husband, Andy, of Aurora, Angel Dean and her husband, Joey, of Marionville, and Fern Fisher of Joplin; two sons, Jacob Johnston and his wife, Shilo, of Cassville, and Richard Morris of Springfield; two adopted daughters, Desiree Kirby and her husband, Josh, and Leah Stark, all of Marionville; two sisters, Cheryl Lampe, of Camdenton, and Debbie Hopkins and her husband, Brent, of Marionville; one brother, Jimmy Brashers and his wife, Elizabeth, of Mt. Vernon; 29 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Edward was a 1967 graduate from Marionville High School. He was a Master Craftsman Cook at Silver Dollar City and was a truck driver for Journagan Construction Company.

A celebration of Edward’s life was held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Clever.
