Arnhart Cemetery meeting on Tuesday

The Arnhart Cemetery Association will hold annual meeting on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Arnhart Pavillon. The public is invited.

Genealogical and historical Society meeting

The Barry County Genealogical and Historical Society will hold a quarterly business meeting on Saturday at 1 p.m. All interested persons are invited to attend the meeting, held at the historic Bayless/Salyer House on the corner of 9th and Townsend streets in Cassville.

Jazz program hosting ‘Blues & BBQ’

The Cassville Jazz Program will host a “Blues & BBQ” fundraiser on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The outdoor concert will feature “The Jazz Cats” middle school jazz band, and the “Wildcat Jazz” high school jazz band. The cost is $10 at the door, which includes a meal and beverage. The concert will be held at the high school’s front parking lot, and people may bring their own lawn chairs.

Exeter announces pre-K and kindergarten screening dates

Exeter elementary has announced early childhood preschool, preschool and kindergarten screening dates as Thursday and Friday. Parents of students who need to enroll for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year can call the elementary office at 417-835-2922, ext. 1, to sign up for a time to come in for screening. Parents and guardians will need to bring the student’s immunization record, birth certificate and proof of residence in the district when they come for screening.

Cassville Branch Library activities scheduled

Activities at the Cassville Branch Library this week include: today, Chair Yoga/QiGong at 9 a.m., Crochet with Ashlyn at 1:30 p.m., Yoga with Tara at 5 p.m.; Thursday, Toastmasters at 6 p.m.; Friday, Chair Yoga/ QiGong at 9 a.m., Tween/Teen Painting at 3:45 p.m., pre-registration required’ Saturday, LEGO Club comeand- go from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Monday, Chair Yoga/QiGong at 9 a.m., Craft/Sewing Group, 2 p.m.; Tuesday, free Homeschool Enrichment at 10 a.m., sign-up required, Trivia at 1:30 p.m.

OATS rides available in Barry County

OATS Transit offers regular transportation services for the rural general public of any age, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Please call the local OATS Transit office at 417-887-9272 or 800-770-6287 to schedule a ride or find out about services in the Barry County area. People may also visit the OATS website at oatstransit.org to view local schedules under “Bus Schedules,” then click on the county of service. OATS offices will be closed, and regular routes will not be running on Feb. 20 for Presidents’ Day. Please keep this in mind as trips are scheduled near these holidays. OATS Transit is hiring drivers statewide to can continue serving riders. Openings are listed on the OATS website.
