The inaugural Big 8 Pickleball Tournament was held at the Monett City Park on Saturday.

Fifty-six students and staff from five Big 8 districts competed in four tournaments.

There were 19 student teams and nine adult teams. Nevada High School placed first in overall team points, becoming the 2023 Big 8 Pickleball Tournament Champions.

Cassville placed second in team points, and Monett finished third. Mount Vernon and Aurora tied for fourth.

The Big 8 Pickleball Tournament gave students and staff an opportunity to learn more about the game in a sociable, cheerful, positive and low-pressure activity with their peers. Security Bank of Southwest Missouri and Veregy sponsored the event.
