James Lee “Jim” McCoy, Sr., 69, of Shell Knob, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023, at his home.
He was born April 7, 1954, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Eugene and Helen (Spratley) McCoy who preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Mary Anderson; three sons, Ernie Gauger of Leavenworth, Kan., James McCoy, Jr. of Kansas City, Mo. and Nick McCoy of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Stephanie Ferguson and her husband Ken of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Rick McCoy of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Mildred Anderson and her husband Jewel of Weston, Mo.; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and his special dog, Sissy.
He grew up and attended school in Kansas City, Mo., graduating from North Kansas City High School. He was employed by the United States Postal Service as an office administrator for several years, retiring in 2014. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
So sorry to hear of his passing. I remember him crocheting in the living room after he finally retired. Prayer and thoughts go out to Mary and his family and friends.
