Myron Cross, PHD, 94, passed away at his home, in Berryville, Arkansas.
He was born in Illinois, to Ray Eugene Cross and Dina Geldmeier Cross-Kinder, who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, William Cross and Robert Joseph Cross; his first wife Barbara Katherine Miller-Cross(Raquel) Wolff; his second wife Julia Rea Kinder-Cross; his forever wife Glenda Eloise Hutchens-Schade Mock-Cross; his sons Reggie Mock-Cross, Rodney Mock-Cross and his son Sunny-Myron Eugene Cross II; and his great grandson Ryan Harris Cross.
Survivors include, his daughters Sukhmandir Kaur aka Katherine Cross Khalsa, and her husband Sukhmandir Singh; Saudjie CrossCrook; Michele Mannering her husband Bill; and Dena CrossJetton; son Charles Edward Cross, his wife Sharon; their son Chuck Cross, his wife Samarra; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He lived in Albuquerque New Mexico, served in the US Navy as a mechanic during the Korean War, got his degree in teaching at Emmanuel Missionary College in Michigan in 1954, and then taught in Washington State from 1955 until 1958. He then taught 6th grade at Macy Elementary School in Southern California, and was also Vice Principal, from 1963-1968. He went on to become Superintendent of Natomas Unified School District.
He served as a Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) missionary in Nigeria, Africa where he built schools and taught from 1958-1960. He received two master’s degrees and two Doctorates from USC and BYU.
Graveside services were held Monday, May 15, 2023 at Hazel Valley Cemetery in Hazel Valley, Ark., under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville, Mo. Pastor Brian Cowin conducted the services.
