During the Music in Our Schools program this spring, Kim and Charles Garner were presented with the Music Advocacy award.

Both Kim and Charles are graduates of Cassville High School and were involved in the fine arts programs as students. Now parents to three Cassville students that are involved in both band and choir, both Kim and Charles serve as volunteers and are instrumental in the success of both the band and choir programs.

‘We are a small part of a large village of volunteers that help the Wildcat Pride Band and Centerstage Show Choir be successful,’ Kim Garner said. ‘The days can be long, but the memories made will last a lifetime. It is our greatest pleasure to follow these talented musicians from event to event and we aren’t done yet.’

As band boosters, the Garners help provide meals for competitions, move equipment on and off the field, shine shoes, pull equipment trailers and cheer loud and proud for band and choir students.
