‘Mock trial’ workshop comes to Roaring River

The Missouri Environmental Education Association and Missouri State Parks are hosting an education workshop on Tuesday called, “Invasive Species: On Trial!” Participants will experience creative techniques for presenting hands-on activities aligned to Missouri Learning Standard through a “mock trial” approach. The fee is $20, or pay-what-you-can. The workshop focuses on youth in grades 6-8, but grade-level scaffolding will be discussed. Teacher and student activity guides and support materials will be provided. People should dress for indoor and outdoor activities. Cassville school supply lists released

Lawrence and Barry County Democrats to meet

The regular monthly meeting of the Lawrence and Barry County Democrats will be held on June 27 at the Angus Branch Steakhouse, located at 114 Chapel Drive in Monett. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. Those wishing to eat should arrive by 5:45 p.m., with each responsible for their own meal. All area Democrats and like minded friends are invited to attend as the group plans and prepares for summer and fall events.

Exeter elementary hosting screenings

The Exeter school district’s summer screening for Pre-K and Kindergarten will be on July 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please call the school to schedule at 417-835-2922, ext 5. Please note that summer hours are in effect, so continue to call if a receptionist is not immediately reached. Pre-K students should be turning 4 before Aug. 1, 2023. Kindergarten students should be turning 5 before Aug. 1, 2023. The following items will be needed to complete enrollment: Proof of residency in the district, birth certificate and immunization record.

Cassville Farmers’ Market open twice per week

The Cassville Farmers’ Market is open for the season, running twice a week on Tuesdays from 4-7 p.m. across from Security Bank and Saturdays on the Cassville Square from 8 a.m. to noon. Zone 4 hosting ‘Ozarks Got Talent’

Zone 4 Mini Golf & More in Cassville will host the inaugural “Ozarks Got Talent” talent show on July 29 at the facility’s amphitheater. Zone 4 is located at 16007 State Highway 76 in Cassville.

Old Church Gallery Farmers’ Market open

The Old Church Gallery Farmers’ Market runs every Thursday from 8-11 a.m. The Market offers fresh produce, eggs, jellies, relishes, baked goods, cut flowers, handmade crafts and more. OATS rides available in Barry County

OATS Transit offers regular transportation services for the rural general public of any age, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Please call the local OATS Transit office at 417-887-9272 or 800770-6287 to schedule a ride or find out about services in the Barry County area. People may also visit the OATS website at oatstransit.org to view local schedules under “Bus Schedules,” then click on the county of service. OATS offices will be closed, and regular routes will not be running on Feb. 20 for Presidents’ Day. Please keep this in mind as trips are scheduled near these holidays. OATS Transit is hiring drivers statewide to can continue serving riders. Openings are listed on the OATS website.

Seligman dances ongoing each Saturday

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce country dances at the Seligman Chamber Event Center are every Saturday from 7-10 p.m. No alcohol is allowed. Admission is $10 per person, and 18-and-under are free. There is a potluck, 50-50 drawing and door prizes. For more information, people may call 479-903-3640.
