Two juveniles were injured and an Aurora woman was arrested and airlifted from the scene of a vehicle wreck on Highway 39, six miles south of Aurora, after the vehicle caught fire at about 7:40 p.m. Thursday.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Kiera Moore, 34, of Aurora, was driving a 2009 Ford Escape northbound when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree, then caught fire.
Moore suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. Two juveniles, a 10-year-old male and a 15-year-old female, each suffered minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to Cox South.
Moore was not wearing a safety device, and the two juveniles were. The vehicle was totaled.
According to a Patrol arrest report, Moore was arrested at 8:15 p.m. and charged with felony driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and no seat belt. She was released for medical care.
Amazing she was able to get through all the curves prior to the six mile stretch of straight road. Bet that was a treat for the passengers.
Not a treat at all…
