The Wheaton Historical Society held a meeting on Aug. 7, where new officers were elected and plans were made to man the pop stand, as in years before, at the Wheaton Fire Department’s annual barbecue, which is Saturday.
“The Fire Department graciously lets us do this as a fundraiser to help with the upkeep of our Restored Wheaton Depot Museum, which is the only depot on the old M&NA railroad,” said JoeAnn Jump, Historical Society reporter. “We are asking for anyone who would to volunteer a couple of hours in the pop stand to help us out. You will be greatly appreciated.”
Hours start as early as 8:30-9 a.m. Those interested in volunteering may call 417-635-2017 or 417– 847-6160.
