2 incidents on Table Rock lake
Two incidents occurred on back to back days on Table Rock Lake in late July, with one man injured after striking a dock with his boat and another nearly drowning at Eagle Rock Swim Beach. According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, on July 28 at 12:01 a.m., Donald Brown, 76, of Diamond, was traveling in a 2008 Ranger Bass Boat southbound in Owl Creek near Point 25, three miles west of Golden, when he failed to see a boat dock in the darkness and struck it.

5th Annual Depot Auto Show set for Aug. 12
The 5th Annual Depot-Exeter Auto Show will take place on Aug. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Front Street in Exeter. This event is organized by Phillips Phabworks and CS Photography and sponsored by several area businesses. Participants can expect free vehicle registration and entry, live music, a coloring station for children, free watermelon provided by Security Bank, food trucks and local vendors. New pickleball courts open for play at Cassville City Park

The Cassville Cruisers will host a Cruise-In on Saturday from 4 p.m. to dusk at the Barry County Museum, south of Cassville on Highway 112.

A fiery first
Frederick “Farenheit” Tackett provided a fiery 10th and final act at the inaugural Ozarks Got Talent show Saturday, earning first place for his performance.

I had my safety gear on at the Ozarks Got Talent show on Saturday at Zone 4 Mini Golf and More. This guy with the nickname “Fahrenheit” — should’ve seen what was coming — was swinging a ball of fire from a rope like he was about to lead the charge of a 16th-century battle for the fjord!
Excessive heat warnings issued
The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued two excessive heat warnings for today and Friday, with highs expected to drop to the 80s next week before climbing again.
