Cassville schools detail pick-up processes
The Cassville school district has released information regarding pick-up processes at each lower school building. Vehicles form a single file line entering the circle drive that will run parallel to the front of the school building and down Kid Cat Drive (or 14th Street).
Golden man dies in wreck
A Golden man died on Aug. 19 as a result of a wreck at 1:30 p.m.

Jig On the Water
August 30, 2023 The river is clearer now, but still not completely clear, running at 32 CFS at the moment. The trout are taking dries again pretty good, and they are still eating beetles, ants, hoppers, small stimulators, caddis and blue wing olives, and there are still nice trico hatches first thing in the morning, midges almost all day and a few sulphurs in the evening.
News briefs, Aug. 30
The city of Washburn will allow residents to bring any tree limbs damaged by recent storms to the corner of County Road and Farm Road 1065, the City Lagoon, for disposal on Sept. 9 from 8 a.m.

Trout Tales, Aug. 23
School is back in session! On Tuesday, I was invited to witness the annual rites of passage at the high school — games played between the classes. Here, we see five seniors a couple of steps away from winning a tug-of-war game against the freshmen. Don’t worry, freshmen, you’ll get your chance to exert your seniority oneday! Other games included a race for items (or people) from the stands, a chanting contest and a “Finish the lyric” song game.

Dog days of summer at Aquatic Center
Amy Blair’s English bulldog, Knucklehead, 2, of Monett, took a break from swimming to take a drink from the hose during Doggie Swim Day at the Cassville Aquatic Center on Saturday.

Kyle Troutman: Make an impact
There are only a few days throughout the year when you can bank on a mixture of high energy, excitement, emotion, and maybe a twinge of anxiety. The few that pop into my mind immediately are Easter, Christmas, birthdays, days you leave for a vacation — and the first day of school.
