“What in tarnation?” That’s probably what my friend Wade Hermansen said when he happened upon this mighty fine mare munching on grass at the Cassville City Park on Monday morning. She trekked from Hwy. 248 to the park, then down the Greenway to the Aquatic Center before police led her onto a baseball field, then to an area pasture. We’re glad the owner was located and the mare returned within just a few hours. It got us thinking though, maybe this girl is onto something. The city would spend much less on mowers and gas if they had a few volunteers like this one out at the baseball fields. Just make sure the kids don’t dive into any of the aftermath!
