Nellie Jane (Taylor) Howard was born August 14th, 1956, in Streator Illinois to Fred Alexander Taylor and Anna Mae Jay. She had 2 brothers Fred Taylor (Alice), and Dennis Taylor.

Nellie was married to Paul Howard and resided in Galena, MO with 8 children. Michael Howard, Stephanie Gillette (Trent), John Taylor (Melissa), Julie Lee (Kieth), Amy Jo Higgins (Sean), Paul Howard Jr, Thomas Howard and Ashley Johnston. They had 22 Amazing grandchildren and was blessed with 3 great-grandchildren.

Nellie was a very special young lady. She made it her life mission to make sure everyone she came into contact with felt loved and cared for. Nellie had the biggest smile, the best hugs and was for sure the mother hen to all. She loved her family dearly and would let nothing stand in the way of spoiling them all.

Nellie is preceded in death by her father Fred, Granddaughter Brittney, Grandsons Nathaniel and Jeremiah.

Services were held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 in Galena Community Church. Cremation was under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane, MO.
