George Luna Nuñez, Sr., 45, of Butterfield, Mo. passed away Monday September 25, 2023, at his home.

He was born September 18, 1978, in Melrose Park, Ill., the son of Antonio and Hermila (Nuñez) Luna, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was one brother, Martin Luna.

Survivors include two sons, George Luna, Jr. of Butterfield, Mo. and Nicholas Luna of Butterfield, Mo.: two daughters, Jasmine Luna of Reeds Spring, Mo. and Natalia Luna of Butterfield, Mo. and four sisters, Yolanda Luna Nuñez of Maywood, Ill., Soledad Luna of Carpentersville, Ill., Elsa Luna of Purdy, Mo. and Estela Luna of Hillside, Ill.

He grew up and attended Proviso East High School in Maywood, Ill.

After moving to Butterfield in 2008 he was employed by Keen Orchards in Washburn and Wal-Mart in Cassville.

He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Cassville, Mo.

Services were held at September 30, 2023 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Cassville. Father William Hodgson conducted the services. Burial was at Rocky Comfort Cemetery in Rocky Comfort, Mo.
