Arrest made after Exeter wreck

Three people were injured and the driver arrested following a single- vehicle wreck at 3:50 p.m. on Friday, two miles west of Exeter.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Darrin Greene, 34, of Exeter, was driving a 2004 Mazda Tribute westbound and attempted to overtake a vehicle but swerved back into the westbound lane due to an oncoming vehicle, running off the right side of the roadway, striking a tree and overturning.

Greene and two passengers in the vehicle, Ashley Achemire, 28, of Exeter, and Kristopher Burwell, 33, of Aurora, all suffered serious injuries. Achemire was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, and Greene and Burwell were transported to Mercy in Springfield via ambulance.

Greene and Burwell were wearing safety devices, and Achemire was not. The vehicle was totaled.

According to a Patrol arrest report, at 4:47 p.m., Greene as arrested for driving while intoxicated — serious physical injury. He was released for medical care.
