Home Community Pet of the week Pet of the weekNovember 29, 2023Community Hi, Harrison here! I have some stories to tell. My latest adventure is when I was hanging around the Haven with my travel companion, Hattie. Her and I were scared as we kept dodging cars, coyotes and wandering in the pasture with cows. We were hesitant every time a Haven staffer would try to help us, as we have never really learned to trust people. One day the staff was leaving, and I decided to give them a chance as I hopped into the backseat of the car and went on my first “rescue ride.” Wow! The feeling I have now of being able to sleep knowing I am protected, fed and watered is amazing (And not having to wake up next to a cow patty — whew). I can’t believe I’ve waited my whole life to give the right humans a chance. I am really coming out of my shell, and I love being petted. Toys are fun, too. I’d love to meet and have a family of my ownthat’s when I know I’ll have hit the jackpot. All pets at Haven of the Ozarks are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations and microchipped. The Haven is a no-kill shelter and is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week. For more information, please email havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com, or call 417-835-3647.
