Rotary Rodeo voted top 5 new in IPRA

The Cassville Rotary Rodeo has earned a distinction among International Professional Rodeo Association Members. Cassville’s rodeo was voted in the Top 5 New Rodeos of the Year. Along with Cassville, the other rodeos in the top 5 included: the Utica Stampede, Utica, N.Y.; the Ormston Kioti Pro Rodeo, Ormston, Quebec, Canada; the Keath Killebrew Memorial Rodeo, Jackson, Miss.; and the Conyers Pro Rodeo, Conyers, Ga.

Polling locations change at 3 precincts

The Barry County Clerk’s Office has announced three polling location changes, which take effect in the April 2, 2024, election. Cassville Rural/Mineral voters will merge with Cassville City and vote at the Family Life Center, located at 200 E. 5th Street in Cassville. Exeter voting will move from the fire station to the Exeter Community Building, located at 112 S Front Street in Exeter. Monett Rural/ Capps Creek voters will merge with Monett City and vote at the Monett City Park Casino building. All Barry County voters will be receiving new voter ID cards in January 2024. Voter ID cards list polling locations and special districts (fire, road, etc.) specific to each voter. Cassville Farmers’ Market open twice per week

The Cassville Farmers’ Market is open for the season, running twice a week on Tuesdays from 4-7 p.m. across from Security Bank and Saturdays on the Cassville Square from 8 a.m. to noon. The market offers local fresh cut flowers, produce, eggs, baked goods, hand made crafts and more. For more information, people may call 417-846-3539.

OATS rides available in Barry County

OATS Transit offers regular transportation services for the rural general public of any age, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Please call the local OATS Transit office at 417-8879272 or 800-770-6287 to schedule a ride or find out about services in the Barry County area. People may also visit the OATS website at oatstransit.org to view local schedules under “Bus Schedules,” then click on the county of service. OATS offices will be closed, and regular routes will not be running on Feb. 20 for Presidents’ Day. Please keep this in mind as trips are scheduled near these holidays. OATS Transit is hiring drivers statewide to can continue serving riders. Openings are listed on the OATS website.

Seligman dances ongoing each Saturday

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce country dances at the Seligman Chamber Event Center are every Saturday from 7-10 p.m. No alcohol is allowed. Admission is $10 per person, and 18-and-under are free. There is a potluck, 50-50 drawing and door prizes. For more information, people may call 479-903-3640.
