atton Kenneth Loyd Patton, 97, of Monett, Mo. passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Mo.

He was born April 12, 1926, in Purdy, Mo., the son of Roy L. and Harriett (Cochran) Patton, who preceded him in death.

Also preceding him in death was his wife, Monica Johanna Smith; two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Karen J. Green of Iowa City, Iowa; one stepson, Kenna Hall and his wife Cathy of Hiawatha, Iowa; one stepdaughter, Margaret “Marty” Garland and her husband Frosty of Cassville, Mo.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He grew up and attended school in Cassville, Mo., graduating from Cassville High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army serving during World War II in the South Pacific. He earned the Purple Heart and Silver Star. Upon returning home he was employed by Midland Forge in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as a foreman for several years Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
