Michael Lance Cookson, 48, of Cassville, Mo. passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Cassville in Cassville, Mo.

He was born January 17, 1975, in Decatur, Ill. the son of Darrel and Betty Jean (Puerta) Cookson.

Preceding him in death was his father, Darrel Cookson.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Tolbert; his mother, Betty Jean Rojas and stepfather Leonico; two stepdaughters, Rebecka Jones of Claremore, Okla. and Stephany Newman of Claremore, Okla.; one half-brother, Albert Rojas of Independence, Mo.; one sister, Leanna Hoffman and her husband Chris of Kansas City, Mo. and two grandchildren.

He lived most of his life in Cassville, Mo. He was employed by Palleton of Kansas Sawmill in Exeter, Mo. as a sawyer for eight years. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Private services will be held at a later date. Cremations arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
