2 Purdy residents injured in Highway 37 crash

Vehicle fails to yield on Hwy. 37

Two Purdy residents were injured in a wreck at 8:45 a.m. on Jan. 12 on Highway 37 in Purdy at Farm Road 2070.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 16-year-old male, of Purdy, was driving a 2012 Ram 3500 westbound and failed to yield to oncoming traffic, pulling into the path of a northbound 2010 Ford E250 being driven by Nathan Burt, 48, of Purdy.

Burt suffered serious injuries, and the juvenile suffered minor injuries. Both were transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin.

Burt and the juvenile were wearing safety devices, and both vehicles were totaled.
