A Golden man is facing a felony after allegedly taking items from a dump trailer and porch at a property in Barry County.
Jeremy Ogle, 46, of Golden, is charged with felony stealing.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Det. Abby Parsons, with the Barry County Sheriff’s Office, on Jan. 30, Parsons and Det. Berner, also with the Sheriff’s Office, were dispatched to an address in Barry County for a report of a theft.
The victim stated he had a window valued at $250 stolen from a dump trailer and an HVAC valued at $4,000 stolen from a porch on the property.
The victim provided Berner with photos and videos obtained from a game camera, allegedly showing a male walking past the camera.
At 11:14 p.m., thew HVAC was not visible by the trailer, then at 11:26 p.m., the HVAC was photographed in front of the trailer, and the subject is seen walking by the camera at 12:27 p.m., allegedly holding the window.
The victim contacted Deputy Remenar, with the Sheriff’s Office, at about 11:30 p.m. to report the alleged theft in progress, but Remenar did not locate the subject.
On Jan. 31, the victim contacted Maj. Angela Cole, with the Sheriff’s Office, and advised he located he subject at a convenience store in Eagle Rock. Cole made a traffic stop of the vehicle, of which Ogle was a passenger. Barefoot at the time, Ogle’s shoes were located in the trunk of the vehicle, and they allegedly matched the description of the shoes the suspect on video was wearing.
After being advised of his rights, Ogle allegedly admitted in an interview to taking items from the property the night before, as well as the previous night. He allegedly admitted to taking a window, a cardboard box and light switch covers from the dump trailer, but said he did not take the HVAC unit.
Ogle has an active warrant out of Kansas City. He has multiple prior convictions and is currently on probation.
He is being held in the Barry County jail on a cash-only bond of $15,000. A bond hearing is set for Feb. 29 at 1 p.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
