Johnny Cowles, 83, of Cassville, Mo., passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, while under the care of Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Mo.
He was born March 29, 1940, in Hasty, Ark., the son of Aubry and Vernie (Fiveash) Cowles, who preceded him in death.
Also preceding him in death was one daughter, Christine Pendleton; one brother, Ray Cowles and two sisters, Irene Baughman and Winnie Norton.
Survivors include his wife, Captola Burbridge; one daughter, Tracy Roney and her husband Steve of Cassville, Mo.; two sisters, Ruby Waters of Harrison, Ark. and Annie Lee and her husband Paul David of Western Grove, Ark.; four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
He grew up and attended school in Western Grove, Ark., graduating from Western Grove High School. In 1961 he moved to the Cassville area. He was employed by FASCO Industries in Cassville, Mo. from 1978 until 2006 when he retired.
He was a member of the Fairview Pentecostal Church in Shell Knob Mo.
Services were held Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Brother Terry Bailie and Pastor Karty Burbridge conducted the services. Burial was at Mikeman Cemetery in Shell Knob, Mo.
