Vernon Dale Underwood, 82, of Shell Knob, Mo., passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Cassville in Cassville, Mo.

He was born March 19, 1942, in Cypress, Calif. the son of John and Anna (Bron) Underwood, who preceded him in death.

Also preceding him in death were, two brothers, George Underwood, and Raymond Underwood.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Wells; two daughters, Lori and Dana and one sister, Beverly.

He grew up and received his education in Anaheim, Calif., and worked as a meat cutter for Lucky’s Markets in Calif. for 40 years before retiring.

He was a member of the Back Country Horsemen of America.

A private celebration of life to honor Vernon will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
