Burnis Lee “Barney Google” Myers, 84, of Purdy, Mo. passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Aurora Nursing Center in Aurora, Mo.
He was born September 4, 1939, in Barry County, Mo., the son of Cleburn and Eunice (Holloway) Myers, who preceded him in death.
Also preceding him in death was a son-in-law, Michael Coleman and his red heeler. Survivors include his wife, Edna Lou Swaffar; his daughter, Kathy Coleman of Purdy, Mo.; a grandson, and a great granddaughter.
He grew up and attended school in Purdy, Mo., graduating from Purdy High School. He was an automobile and heavy equipment mechanic. In 1968 he moved to Black Jack, Mo. residing there until 1986 when he returned to Barry County. The summer of 1961 he was saved at the Easyville Revival and baptized in Flat Creek at the McDowell bridge by Brother Nelson. He attended Log Church of God Holiness.
Services were held Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Travis Bland and Malcolm Terry conducted the services. Burial was at Log Church Memorial Gardens in Butterfield, Mo.
