Dennis Michael “Mike” Poehling, age 74, of Shell Knob, Missouri passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024 at his home.

He was born October 17, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of Denny and Sally (Wilke) Poehling. On May 12, 1990 in Hillsboro, Missouri he was united in marriage to Susan (Compton) Kane, his loving wife of many years, who survives. Also surviving are his mother; one son, Denny Poehling and his wife Christine of Eureka, Missouri; one stepson, Robert Kane of Bradenton, Florida; one stepdaughter, Jennifer Kane of Sarasota, Florida; three sisters, Dee Wilson and her husband Doug of Castle Rock, Colorado, Sandy Gibson and her husband Garry of Wildwood, Missouri and Chris Ann Brunsman of Wildwood, Missouri and four grandchildren, Scout and Lydia Poehling and Daden and Kaylee Kane.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Mike received his education in St. Louis, Missouri where he attended Mehlville High School. He worked for many years as a product sales and supervisor for Mass Merchandisers. Mike also worked for the Kimberling City Newspaper as a sales director in Kimberling City, Missouri. Mike enjoyed boating, grilling, swimming, lawn care and nature.

A private celebration of life to honor Mike will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
