Oleta Myrtle Catron, 87, died on April 11, 2024, in Conroe, Texas.
She was born on August 14, 1936, in Exeter, Mo., the daughter of Guy and Hazel (Cole) Hooten, who preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death was her sister, Phyllis Howe and her beloved husband, Robert Eugene Catron.
Survivors include her daughter, Paula; son, Bob, daughter-in-law, Katie; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She grew up on a farm outside Exeter and graduated from Exeter High School in 1953 and worked various jobs in Exeter before marrying Robert in 1957. She relocated to Perrin Air Force Base in Sherman, Texas and began her life as a military wife – which involved international moves.
She lived many years in San Antonio, Texas and worked both as a PE Teacher and School Secretary at Lackland City Elementary. They returned to Mo. for almost 30 years to be close to their many friends and family.
They moved back to Texas in 2016 to be closer to the grandkids.
After Robert’s death in 2023 she moved to a senior living facility Her favorite bible verse was Psalm 23.
No services are scheduled at this time. Burial will be at a later date at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Mo., under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
