The Wesley Wizards, a team representing the Cassville United Methodist Church won first place at the Cassville Education Fund’s Trivia Night on Friday, winning the overall competition.
Newsflash!, a team sponsored by the Cassville Democrat, won the “Smarty Pants” award for most trivia questions answered correctly.
The fun-filled event raised nearly $1,500 for the Cassville Education Fund.
Five teams competed in the charitable event with groups of coworkers, friends, classmates, family members and church members participating. The event was sponsored by the Cassville Democrat, Cassville school district, Cassville United Methodist Church, Commerce Bank, First State Bank and Willis Insurance.
Emcee Judge Robert Foulke announced four rounds of triv- ia questions covering a wide range of subjects from history and sports to geography and animals. Three bonus-point games were played between rounds, with the Wesley Wizards winning two games and taking second in the other.
Proceeds from Trivia Night benefit the Cassville Education Fund, a permanent endowment fund for the educational needs of Cassville Schools.
