Man injured in Butterfield wreck

A Butterfield man was injured on Friday in a wreck at 11:35 p.m. on Highway 37, half a mile west of Butterfield.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, John Cargile, 58, of Butterfield, was driving a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 eastbound when his vehicle failed to yield to southbound a 2021 Freightliner Cascadia, being driven by Benjamin Roe, 54, of Cassville, causing the Freightliner to strike the Dodge.

Cargile suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Cassville. Roe was not injured.

Both were wearing safety devices. The Dodge was totaled, and the Freightliner sustained moderate damage.
