Frances “Louise” Brooks, 94, of Cassville, Mo. passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Springfield in Springfield, Mo.
She was born May 3, 1930, in Springfield, Mo., the daughter of J.W. and Anna (Stansberry) Robbins, who preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Richard Brooks; five brothers, Wayne, Ira, Earl, Ray and Loren Robbins and one sister, Oneita Doss.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Dierks and her husband Ed of Lockwood, Mo., and Linda Byrd and her husband Jerry of Cassville, Mo.; two grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She and Richard lived in the Cassville area all their married life. She graduated from Cassville High School with the class of 1947. She worked as a cafeteria cook at local schools including, Mt. Sinai School, (1 -8, rural), Jenkins School, (1-8, rural) and at Cassville Public Schools where she was supervisor and from where she retired in 1995. She was a lifelong member of Mill Street Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School classes for many years.
Services were held Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Mill Street Church of Christ, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Garrett Akin and Laith Hayward conducted the services. Burial was at Corinth Cemetery in Cassville, Mo.
