Jay D. Bamfield, 70, of Eagle Rock, Mo., passed away peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2024, at his home. Born on November 5, 1953, in Salina, Kan., the son of the late Curtis and Clara (McClellan) Bamfield.
Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Lanny and Danny Bamfield.
Survivors include his companion, Martha Rittgers; his son, Dan Bamfield and wife Kim of Weston, Mo.; his daughters, Beth Mallonee and her husband Jake of Weston, Mo. and Megan Tolliver and her husband Anthony of Kearny, Mo.; his stepson, Brian Rittgers and his wife Mary of Oklahoma City, Oklah.; his brother, Larry Bamfield of St. Joseph, Mo.; as well as his six granddaughters, five grandsons, one great-granddaughter, and one great-grandson.
He graduated from Chapman High School’s class of 1971 in Chapman, Kan.
He dedicated thirty- five years to airport construction with J. Schouten Construction.
A celebration of life to honor Jay will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
