Cassville Boots, Badges & Bandages Blood Drive to unite area First Responders July 2

First responders from Cassville are uniting with Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the sole supplier of blood, plasma, and platelets to patients at more than 40 area healthcare facilities, for an inaugural Cassville Boots, Badges and Bandages Community Challenge Blood Drive.

The blood drive will take place on Tuesday at First Baptist Church Life Center, 602 West Street, Cassville. Drive hours are from noon to 6 p.m.

The Boots, Badges and Bandages Community Challenge Blood Drive is a fun event which provides an opportunity for the community to come together and support local patients, while at the same time honoring area first responders for the work they do every day.

It is also a friendly competition between the fire, police and first responder departments with a traveling trophy awarded to the department with the strongest showing.

The summer is commonly a challenging time for blood donations and the local blood supply.

“We appreciate the support of the local fire, police, and first responders, who understand the importance of a strong, local blood supply and host a Boots, Badges and Bandages Community Challenge Blood Drive,” said Michelle Teter, CBCO media relations representative. “Donating blood is a great way to give life to your community. Your blood donation could very well save the life of a family member, friend, colleague, or neighbor.”

All donors will receive a special limited edition, Boots, Badges and Bandages T-shirt honoring first responders. Donors will also receive a ten-dollar gas gift card, while supplies last.

To help avoid wait times, appointments are encouraged. Donors can schedule an appointment by calling 417-227-5006 or online at www.cbco.org/donate-blood.

Photo identification required. Please eat well and drink plenty of fluids prior to the blood drive.
