Carolyn Ray, 82, of Wheaton, Mo. passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Cox Monett Hospital in Monett, Mo.

She was born August 13, 1941, in Springfield, Mo. the daughter of Ralph and Helen (Davis) Ross, who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death was her husband E. L. Ray, and two brothers, David Ross and Richard Ross.

Survivors include one son, Chris Ray and his wife Lana of Wheaton, Mo.; one daughter, Mindy Beeson and her husband Shawn of Wheaton, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

She grew up and received her education in Wheaton, Mo. graduating from Wheaton High School, later attending SMSU attaining an associate degree. E.L. and Carolyn owned and operated several businesses, L-Rays Restaurant, the laundry mat, the car wash and The Donut Shop all in Wheaton. After selling the businesses she worked for Young’s Insurance in Purdy, Mo. for 15 years from where she retired.

She was a member of Wheaton United Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 12, 2024 at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Bob Howard will conduct the services. Burial will be at Muncie Chapel Cemetery in Wheaton, Mo.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.
