Donald Dale “Don” Horton, 86, of Seligman, Mo., passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Concordia Nursing and Rehab in Bella Vista, Ark.
He was born September 9, 1937, in Duke, Mo., the son of Willie Lee and Effie Mae (Vaughn) Horton, who preceded him in death.
Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Donetta Williams; a son, David Horton; two sisters, Loretta Baumgardner and Leota Welch; one brother, Edward Horton; a grandson, Christopher Morris Stover and a great grandaughter, Carley Hammers.
Survivors include his wife Iva Bromlow; one daughter, Debby Stover and her husband Dale of Washburn, Mo.; a sonin- law, Doug Williams of Seligman, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He grew up and attended school in Pampa, Texas. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Army National Guard.
He was employed by MD Schneider as a truck driver in the oil industry for many years. He later owned and operated D & H Used Cars in Seligman. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 13, 2024 at New Salem Cemetery in Seligman, Mo., under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Dale Stover will conduct the services.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Friday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
Contributions may be made to Rock Springs Baptist Church in memory of Don.
