Dolores Mae Atkinson, 88, of Washburn, Mo. passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Aurora Nursing Center in Aurora, Mo.

She was born September 9, 1935, in Garden City, Kan., the daughter of Clayton C. and Velma (Fetterolf) Carroll, who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death was her husband James Wesley Atkinson; four brothers; one sister; one son, Clay Atkinson and one granddaughter.

Survivors include three sons, Rick Atkinson and his wife Linda, of Pea Ridge, Ark., Kenyon Atkinson and his wife Carol, of Cassville, Mo., and Aaron Atkinson of Washburn, Mo.; three daughters, Vicki Vinson of Pensacola, Fla., Lisa Rataczak and her husband Bill of Pineville, Mo., and Teresa Schwellinger of Washburn, Mo.; one sister, Thelda Moore of Dodge City, Kan.; 34 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.

She attended Lincoln Elementary School and Garden City High School in Garden City, Kan.

She worked as a machine maintenance operator for First Brands Corporation in Rogers, Ark. making Glad plastic bags. She lived in Barry County for 48 years and was a member of Cassville Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
